Easter Weekend........or Winter is back......

This last weekend was of course Easter. The weather ended up not being the greatest and when I was talking to Jax on the phone Friday I mentioned the possibility of it snowing on Saturday (the day of our Easter celebration). He just happily replied " Grandma, you will just have to hide the eggs inside like you had to do that one year."

When Saturday got here luck was with me and it ended up being a fairly nice day (at least in Brigham). I have had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids since Cambria was 2. I always have it the Saturday before Easter. The last few years we colored eggs too but this year I decided not to. Both girls were fine with it and we thought that the kids wouldn't care one way or the other. WRONG!!!!!!!

When Leslie asked her kids when they wanted to color eggs, both Braxton and Cambria said that they were coloring them at Grandma's! When Leslie told them that we weren't coloring eggs this year both kids were very disappointed.

Cambria had made me a story book about what we did on Easter and she told her mom that now she would have to tear out some pages. I wanted to cry when Leslie was telling me this. Luckily Leslie talked Cambria into leaving the pages in the book. By the way it was the cutest little story book. Leslie said that Cambria had worked on it all week.

After we had eaten and hunted for eggs Braxton came up to me and asked when we were going to color eggs. I just gave him a big hug and told him that we weren't and that Grandma had messed up and asked him to forgive me. He of course did and I will never leave out coloring Easter eggs again!

We kept lunch simple. I ordered a 6 foot sub from Kent's ( I know it wasn't Walmart, but they are the best). Jamie made a really good green salad and Leslie made strawberry shortcake for dessert and Angel brought the drinks.

After we ate it was time to hunt for eggs....

Here is Jax, Gunner, Trevon, Braxton and Cambria ready to go....

I need to come up with more hiding places now that they are getting older. Afterwards they had fun opening all the eggs to see their prizes.

Gunner loved just playing with the empty eggs.

We weren't paying attention at one point and when I looked over at Gunner he was by Jax's basket and he was taking one egg out of Jax's basket at a time saying "I found an Easter Egg!" and then he would put it in his bag. He had half of Jax's eggs in his bag by the time we noticed. He just wanted to keep hunting for eggs and was sad when he had to give Jax back his eggs.

Gunner also just idolizes Jax and Jax is soooo good with Gunner. This surprises us all because Jax has always had NO tolerance for little babies (even his brother). But he plays so good with Gunner. He even helps me with him when I have had them all spend the night.

Here is Jax tickling Gunner.

It was a fun afternoon and I have more picture on my Facebook if you want to see them.

It was also Conference weekend, which means Pajama Sunday! I just stay in my pj's and watch conference. It is so nice and relaxing. The talks were very good.

I received another song to test from Dale J. I'm really enjoying helping him out with his sheet music. It is giving me new things to play and at the end of a week I send him my findings so that when he does the finished sheet music it hopefully will be as close to perfect as it can. Plus I will get a free final copy of all the pieces I help him with. He is very talented and we also are becoming friends.

I've started a new book..."The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. I've heard it is really good so we will see.
